I’m being a horrible person this week and skipping school to play some shows with Surrogate in the doubtlessly rainy-as-f Pacific Northwest. But it’ll be worth it for the following reasons:
1) We’re playing with our friend Dustin Ruth’s newly minted solo project for all 4 shows, including his CD release show in his hometown of Vancouver, WA. If you were smart enough to hit play at the top of this post, you’re hearing the first song off the CD, “Honey” right now.
2) Our friend Joe from the band Sherwood will be playing drums for us.
3) We haven’t played a show outside of CA in over a year.
4) Summer school classes are licking serious nuts right about now.
We’re leaving tomorrow to get a whole whopping one day worth of practice in with Joe. Hopefully I don’t flunk out of school, but if I do, it’ll be worth it, or at least that’s what I keep telling myself. If you happen to live in Portland, the Dirty ‘Couve, Seattle or Chico come out and buy me a beer and give me some validation.
